A Snail’s Pace Running Shop in Brea is a fully reimagined store, acting as a prototype for the company’s future. The renovated Brea, California location features modern shoe walls, an enhanced, high-tech fit experience, and the brand’s first-ever in-store bar designed for post-run socializing.
The space was reimagined by the shop’s current leadership team – Joe, Eddie, and Tiffany – with Joe taking full ownership in 2023.

The “reimagining” of the Brea location centered on shifting the store from a traditional retail shop to a community-centric social hub. The design serves as a “look ahead at the future” for the brand, prioritizing social connection over a standard transaction-only layout.
Founded on 45 years of heritage, the Brea flagship was fully reimagined to define the future of A Snail’s Pace. Under the leadership of Joe, Eddie, and Tiffany, the 2024–2025 renovation transformed the traditional retail space into a social hub where technology meets community. By integrating the Pace & Pint brewpub alongside an advanced 3-2-Run Fit Experience, we’ve created a space that celebrates the journey as much as the gear. It isn’t just a store; it’s a gathering place designed for the next generation of the Southern California running community.
This remodel embraces minimalism with purpose, blending light-toned wood, polished concrete, and clean lines to create an inviting, elevated shopping experience.
The layout prioritizes function and flow. Custom shelving units frame athletic apparel and running gear with museum-like precision, while spotlight track lighting adds depth and direction to featured items. A neutral color palette amplifies the natural textures, allowing product stories to take center stage.
At the heart of the remodel is a central fixture that doubles as both a seating area and a retail display – designed for utility, built for modernity. The curated arrangement of accessories, apparel, and hydration gear reflects a brand focused on movement, energy, and intentional living.
